A number of important decisions will be made in relation to public transport in our area in the next few weeks.
A review of public transport in North Dublin has been completed by the National Transport Authority. It has submitted a report to the Minister for Transport. A very poor public consultation exercise was undertaken by the National Transport Authority over Christmas and the New Year last winter, and it’s difficult to have confidence in how this review was carried out. The NTA has narrowed down the options for future public transport investment to just six. One of the options is a revised Metro North as well as some LUAS and bus only options. Some of the route options run close to Finglas Road, some Ballymun Road, and some could serve Swords Road.
A decision as to which of the projects will receive Government funding is due to be made by the Minister of Transport very shortly.
